We thank God for the thousands of children who have received shoeboxes here since Operation Christmas Child began outreach events. While we are not able to provide pictures or information on the specific child who received your individual shoebox, we hope you will be encouraged and inspired by the photos and stories below.
This was our message for every child: "Jesus loves you!”
Hundreds of local partner churches across Jamaica helped distribute the shoebox gifts through outreach events in their communities.
As well as their shoebox, each child received The Greatest Gift—a child friendly Gospel presentation.
Please keep praying for these boys and girls and the nation of Jamaica as they continue the road to recovery.
It was our honour to bring something to bless these children who had been through so much.
Samaritan’s Purse COO Edward Graham and the team helped local Operation Christmas Child leaders in Black River providing shoebox gifts to excited children. They also met with long-time Operation Christmas Child church partners who will help distribute the thousands of shoebox gifts.
Hope After the Storm
Since Hurricane Melissa tore through Jamaica on 28 October, the Lord has done mighty things to bring healing and encouragement to families through Samaritan’s Purse.
What Happens After the Shoebox?
After receiving their shoebox gift, children can enrol in The Greatest Journey—12 fun and interactive Bible lessons—where they get the chance to discover who Jesus is, begin their journey of faith, and receive a New Testament in their own language. Watch the video below to see how The Greatest Journey is transforming lives around the world.
Note: The Greatest Journey is offered free of charge, without obligation, and with the consent of the child’s parent or guardian.
