Operation Christmas Child Warehouse Operative
Location: Coventry (National Ministry Centre)
Contract: Fixed-term, 1 November to 19 December 2026
Join the Operation Christmas Child team and play a vital role in helping thousands of shoebox gifts reach children in need around the world. This hands-on warehouse role supports the collection, processing and export of shoebox gifts during our busiest season.
Key Responsibilities
- Load, unload, palletise and move shoeboxes and other stock around the warehouse.
- Support processing centre operations, including preparing workstations, handling cartons and assisting volunteers.
- Help prepare and dispatch materials to processing centres across the UK.
- Drive vans to deliver and collect materials where required.
- Complete basic administrative tasks, including barcode scanning and data entry.
- Maintain a safe, tidy and efficient warehouse environment.

You will:
- Have a positive, flexible and proactive approach to work.
- Enjoy working as part of a team and alongside volunteers.
- Be physically able to lift and carry cartons of up to 20kg and spend much of the day on your feet.
- Be willing to work some evenings and Saturdays during the peak season.
- Be willing to drive charity vans (forklift experience is advantageous but not essential).
Occupational Requirement:
In accordance with the Equality Act of 2010 and due to both the nature and context of the role there is an ‘occupational requirement’ for the post holder to be an evangelical Christian. The job holder should be committed to the purpose of SPI and be able to demonstrate enthusiasm for the Christian purposes of the organisation and be able to live out, hold to, support and contribute to its Christian ethos.
