Pastor Michael (left) and his congregation lacked a place to gather for worship when Samaritan’s Purse staff met them. Their building, made of a grass-thatched roof and mud walls, was bombed during the war in South Sudan. Many church members were displaced during the conflict and still lived in fear that armed groups would return. “I didn’t think any of us were going to survive,” Pastor Michael said. Our team brought hope and encouragement to the weary believers by rebuilding their church with materials such as concrete and steel so that the facility will last for generations. Across the world, we are repairing and rebuilding houses of worship in Jesus’ Name. Your gift will help congregations in persecuted and impoverished areas to expand their Gospel outreach and shine the light of God’s love. “I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it” (Matthew 16:18).
