In the sweltering Burkina Faso heat, Sia* took refuge with the other children in the shade of a tree and listened to local church leaders share the Good News. The Operation Christmas Child outreach event was the first time that the girls and boys had heard the Gospel in a way they could understand. Each child also received a shoebox gift full of fun items, and the shoebox was a tangible representation of the Saviour’s love. Through the outreach event, Sia and her family came to know that the Gospel was true, and they prayed to receive Jesus Christ as their Saviour. Some people who pack shoeboxes for children like Sia cannot afford the £5 donation per shoebox that covers collection, shipping, partner training, and Gospel resources. For £5, you can adopt a shoebox, or for £75, you can adopt a carton of them, so children who live in remote communities of the world can learn of the “love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God” (1 John 3:1).
