Resources for your 'soup and a roll lunch'

Hold a soup and a roll lunch

So that Mary can put food on the table too.
In North West Uganda, 9 out of 10 families lack sufficient and nutritious food. Day in, day out, they simply don’t know where their next meal is coming from.

Give a short talk on what the Bible says about food. Samaritan’s Purse Programme Manager for Food Security in Uganda, Mesele Hagos, shares a Christian perspective on food and food aid. Here’s a snapshot:

"The biblical perspective of food … is different from the world."

"First, contrary to the secular worldview, the Bible does not limit the importance of food to physical sustenance. In the Bible, food is viewed as a necessity to meet the physical, social, moral and spiritual needs of a person."

"Through the medium of food, relationship is developed, families are built, and even spirituality is expressed. Beneficiaries are not mere consumers, they are people created in the image of God."

Pray that families in North-West Uganda will be able to put nutritious food on the table once again.
