“Last year, my sister-in-law, Alison, joined the Samaritan’s Purse team in Ukraine and worked as a doctor in an underground field hospital to support and care for the people of Ukraine in the midst of the crisis.

In April 2023 I am running a marathon double header – Paris and London – to raise funds for the Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART), which Alison worked for. I would be grateful for your support for this amazing team.

Samaritan’s Purse stands ready to respond at a moment’s notice whenever and wherever disaster strikes. The charity specialise in meeting critical needs for victims of conflict, disaster, famine, and epidemics throughout the world, often working through ministry partners on the ground. It provides food, water, shelter, medicine, and other assistance in the Name of Jesus Christ.”

They provide food, water, shelter, medicine, and other assistance in many nations.

The money I raise will go towards funding their ongoing Disaster Relief efforts.”

“Hello everyone 👋🏻

My name is Inna, I am from Ukraine and I received a Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child shoebox gift when I was a little girl and it changed my life! I started to run in 2019, and since then running become part of my life. I have had a huge dream to run the London marathon and now through receiving the Operation Christmas Child shoebox it is coming true✨

What is The Greatest Journey? After receiving a shoebox gift, the local church invites the children to take part in The Greatest Journey. It is 12 fun Bible lessons to discover who Jesus is and how to start their own faith journey. Teachers are trained and Samaritan’s Purse provides all the fun study materials and a bible in their own language. After receiving my shoebox gift my mother become involved with the church and I have seen children be blessed with receiving a shoebox gift. I also had the opportunity to give Operation Christmas Child shoebox gifts to children in need from the local schools when I was older. My mother also began to teach The Greatest Journey in the church to the children and it was exciting to see them discover Jesus for themselves. I want to see other children blessed with the opportunity to learn about Jesus through The Greatest Journey, especially in my home country in Ukraine. Jesus said “go make disciples of all nations” and The Greatest Journey gives the church the opportunity for children, their friends, and family to know God’s love.

Please will you support me and help me to raise £2000 for Samaritan’s Purse and The Greatest Journey in Ukraine?”

“I have worked for Samaritan’s Purse for 17 years, and in that time I have seen God work in miraculous ways. One of my favorite places in the world is Iraq, and I have had the privilege of traveling there on multiple occasions and meeting some of the kindest, most hospitable people on the planet. I have been especially touched by the work Samaritan’s Purse is doing to help women there who have suffered greatly at the hand of brutal terrorists. Our staff offers them the overwhelming, unconditional compassion of Christ, and God has used that effort to restore their dignity and hope. Running my first marathon at 53 years old can often feel impossible. But then I think about what these precious women have lived through and how they are overcoming because of the grace and mercy of God. It reminds me of Matthew 19:26, “But Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’

I am running FOR the women of Iraq, TO the glory of God, WITH the power found in the Name of Jesus!”

We are John and Lilla and together we are running the London marathon .. we have done other events together but this is a special one as Lilla will be celebrating her 40th at the same time and we are so blessed that we can share the moment together while our children watch and hopefully inspire them to reach their goals.

We both have been running only a few years now and Lilla and I have hit a few targets wished for, London now being our cherry on top as it’s the most renowned marathon. We have both worked hard to secure our places and raising as much money as we can for Samaritan purse as we feel you do what we all should do to look after those in need.
