£27,000 – £28,800 per annum
We are looking for a highly capable manager of people and projects to lead and develop teams of volunteers to inspire and equip churches, groups and individuals to engage in the mission of Operation Christmas Child (OCC) and to multiply the volunteer network throughout London and South East England.
OCC is the world’s largest shoebox appeal where Samaritan’s Purse, together with local churches here and overseas, distributes from the UK over 900,000 gift-filled shoeboxes annually to children in need worldwide and in so doing demonstrates God’s love in a tangible way while sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.
The successful applicant will have strong experience of leading volunteers, either through work roles or as a volunteer themselves at church or with charitable organisations. They will be motivated by and skilful at coaching others towards effective ministry, teamwork, and increased personal competency. They should be energetically committed to the ministry of OCC which resources 60,000 churches around the world to reach out to those in need in their communities with the love and hope of Christ. They should also have strong organisational, project management and administrative skills.
This position leads and coaches Volunteer Area Leadership Teams, including implementing and overseeing the recruiting, selecting, equipping, leading and developing of Volunteer Leaders to work within these teams. Each team will be working out their calling by God to serve within the ministry of OCC. This role works with these Volunteer Leaders to engage local churches and other groups with this ministry.
Though part of a wider staff team covering the whole of the UK, this role is based in region and so prospective candidates should currently live in the region and provide their own transport for which defined expenses will be paid.
