Preparing For Crisis

As the humanitarian needs of the world are escalating, Samaritan’s Purse is investing in preparations for crisis, right here in the UK. Our new warehouse in the Midlands is designed to stock relief supplies ready to respond to needs around the world faster than ever before. But we need your help to fill that warehouse. Check out the different relief supplies you can donate below.

Blankets

After a crisis, the apostle Paul added a personal plea to his final letter to Timothy: “Bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at Troas” (2 Timothy 4:13). Paul felt abandoned, and like all of us who go through a dark and cold night, he longed to be warmed and comforted. A snug blanket can be the ideal consolation to someone who has gone through a tragedy like the earthquakes in Turkey or the war in Ukraine.

A gift of just £28 would provide four blankets to help those who are desperate for hope.

Kitchen Kits

As Isis advanced during the battle for Mosul, Nissan’s family joined the chaotic mass exodus from Qaraqosh. Though they tried to take along some rice and oil, they ended up having to leave it on the streets. His family were among those to receive a kitchen kit with pots, plates, cups, and utensils from Samaritan’s Purse. As we deliver supplies to refugees or families who’ve lost everything in a crisis, our staff have opportunities to talk about Christ, our Saviour and Redeemer.

A gift of £60 can provide three families like these with kitchen kits.

Rolls of Tarpaulin

One of our most practical and important relief tools, a roll of tarp for emergency shelters is made of technical material that can house a family for months, or re-roof six homes damaged in a typhoon or hurricane. As we provide this shelter material, we share of God our refuge and strength.

Will you consider a gift of £200 to provide enough tarpaulin for six families to re-roof their homes?

Hygiene Kits

After a crisis, or in the midst of conflict like many Ukrainians were facing, families often struggle to access basic personal care items. A hygiene kit will last for 30 days and be delivered into the hands of those who most need them. Each kit includes a drawstring bag filled with items such as soap, a toothbrush, comb, razor, toilet paper, shampoo, washcloth, feminine hygiene items, and other essentials.

A gift of £90 will provide five families with all the essentials, and is an opportunity to show them they are loved and that the Lord has not forgotten them.

Solar Lights

When an area has been devastated by disaster and infrastructure is severely damaged, a solar powered light can be a real blessing to those who are living in darkness. During the conflict in Ukraine, Samaritan’s Purse has been distributing solar lights to families in need, and again following the earthquake in Turkey when many were without power and a source of light.

A gift of £44 can give a solar light to four families and help them discover Jesus, the Light of the World.
