Parents and grandparents are regularly forced to choose which child will go hungry, or which child will work the land rather than go to school. Some families tragically abandon their children in the street, while others marry off their daughters at a young age so there is one less mouth to feed. These girls can end up dying in child birth or bringing more children into the world that need food; Some men ‘cope’ by spending what little money a family might have on alcohol and drugs. All this pressure of a lack of food results in domestic violence and family break up.
"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat." (Matthew 25:35)
