Hurricane Matthew

Samaritan’s Purse is bringing physical and spiritual relief to survivors of Hurricane Matthew in the U.S. and Caribbean. As a Category 4 storm, Matthew caused catastrophic damage in Haiti and the Bahamas, killing more than a thousand people—most of them in Haiti. We have airlifted over 40 tons of hygiene kits, water filters, blankets, and heavy-duty plastic sheeting to Haiti, with more relief being airlifted soon. We are establishing a cholera treatment center there as well. An additional airlift is bringing relief to the Bahamas. Our U.S. Disaster Relief teams and tractor-trailer units have deployed to North and South Carolina to help affected homeowners there.
