Do you believe that the local church should be the hands and feet of Jesus, expressing His love and care, providing for the needs of the people in their community and transforming their lives? Poverty is still a huge problem in our world, with almost 9.6% of the global population trapped by it.
The chains of poverty take many forms – hunger, disease, illiteracy and child mortality to name just a few. Together we can help break these chains to give impoverished families the chance to experience fullness of life; both physically and spiritually.
People are living in extreme poverty.
Globally are undernourished.
Children die every day, mainly from preventable causes.
Through Raising Families you can help local churches in Central Asia and Sub Saharan Africa to become catalysts for change in their communities. Through Biblical training, churches learn how to reach out into their communities and encourage reconciliation, forgiveness, healing and unity. The poor, now respected, rediscover their self-worth, and are enabled to do things for themselves. Through sharing in bible studies and workshops, people learn new skills including how to put existing skills and resources to work in a new way. Families and whole communities are being transformed.
Whether by starting a business, or learning agricultural skills, the local church empowers families to stand on their own feet so that they can provide crucial necessities like food and water, healthcare, education, shelter, protection and other basic needs for their family.
