Thank you for bringing Good News and Great Joy to a child living in Central Asia!
Your shoebox gift was one of 66,673 that has been delivered to children in Central Asia. We thank God for the thousands of children that have received shoeboxes here since Operation Christmas Child began distributions.
Due to the political and religious sensitivities within some of the countries we deliver to, and for the safety of our ministry partners living in these restricted areas, we cannot divulge the names of the countries.
One of our international representatives described the power of these simple shoebox gifts:
“In the very restricted environments, we can’t have local believers out being vocal about their faith. A shoebox becomes a key to a closed door. I desire to be involved in the work of love. In the remote areas where people have nothing, where people are dirt poor, this box gives them hope. This is love. True love. This opens the eyes of the people. Jesus said, ‘I am the light of the world. He who follows me will not walk in darkness but have the light that leads to life (John 8:12).’ Through Operation Christmas Child, God has given us the opportunity to penetrate the darkest places in this world.”

ONE OF OUR PARTNERS SAID:
“Both children and adults felt God’s love and were filled with joy. They were thankful and happy. Distribution of the gift boxes helped our church to build stronger relationships with the community.”
STORIES SHARED FROM VARIOUS SENSITIVE COUNTRIES – names changed for security reasons
“9 year old Vladimir received his gift at the outreach event at our Sports Centre, where he attends one of our sports clubs. It was his first gift and it was a long-awaited day in his life. His family is poor and Vladimir lives with his grandmother as his mother is often away from home. Vladimir gets attention and love in our Sports Centre. On the day of distribution Vladimir was very happy and never stopped smiling. After receiving his gift, Vladimir opened it immediately and he was thrilled. He said: ‘I was very happy to receive the gift. I always dreamed that I had toy, and when I opened my gift, there was the kind of toy I always wanted. There were also two sharpeners, two erasers, a notebook, a pen, toothpaste and a brush. I really liked my gift. Thank you!’ “
At one outreach event a grandmother was keen to share her gratitude and said, “From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for the gifts and for your love and concern for our children.” She explained how her granddaughter enjoyed the cosmetics and toys and her young grandson was so pleased with his shoebox gift that he even took it to bed with him!
Kirill is 12 years old. He dreamed of having a black sports hat and gloves. Winter came but still he did not have the desired hat and gloves. When Kirill received his shoebox he opened it and there was a hat, gloves, and a scarf! He immediately put them on and did not take them off for some time. His mother looked at him and wept. This simple act of kindness from the individual who packed Kirill’s shoebox gift and the church partners who reached out in love, led to Kirill and his mother building a relationship with the local church and beginning to pray and attend services together.
