Weeding worries away in Mozambique

Families in Gaza, Mozambique, are giving thanks to God and to Samaritan’s Purse as they carefully weed their new crops of onions, potatoes and beans. New growth and fresh hope is a welcome change for this community of farmers.
In the past, hunger and worry about what the future held was a constant reality for families like Mabula’s. With seven children to feed, he was constantly wondering where the next meal was coming from. But now his fears are no more.
“We see a bright future. Previously, we did not have enough funds to grow as much as we do now, and we were starving. Now we have no fear of the future because we have enough to eat and to sell. Thank you, Samaritan’s Purse, for the lessons on how to improve our farming.”
Providing farmers like Mabula with the tools they need to provide daily food for their families not only impacts the community physically, but also shows God’s love to these people in practical ways. What better way to follow the words of the Psalmist: “He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry.” (Psalm 146 v.7)
