Back on her feet
Abandoned by her husband after he passed on the HIV virus to her, Pamela struggled to support her three children as TB and pneumonia took their toll.
It was Sophie, a Christian from nearby Calvary Church in one of the slums of Nairobi, who reached out to her with the love of God and practical support. As a result, her health has improved and her life has been turned around.
“I owe my life to Calvary church and to Sophie in particular,” Pamela exclaims. “They came to help me with household chores, foodstuffs, clothing and even finances so I could pay rent and keep my children in school. They have also given me spiritual nourishment through home visits and home fellowships. I have never seen such love.”
Now Pamela is back on her feet, her prayer is that God continues to restore her health so that she can grow her wool spinning business and support families within the church and wider community who are suffering because of HIV and AIDS.
