Samaritan's Purse responds to Samoan Tsunami

119 people are now confirmed dead and hundreds are still missing after an earthquake caused a Tsunami to strike the islands of Samoa, American Samoa, and Tonga on Tuesday morning. Across these islands the news coming through is limited but we know that international assistance is essential.

A global Samaritan’s Purse Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART), including Timothy Holmes and Ralph Springett from the UK, is currently en route to Samoa. The team will be assembled in Apia early next week to assess the situation, looking to join the relief teams and distribute emergency items such as essential plastic sheeting, blankets and international health kits.

The team are hoping to draw alongside local Christian leaders to provide support and relief to many in desperate need.
