Samaritan’s Purse supports victims of Sumatra Earthquake
Two earthquakes struck Indonesia’s West Sumatra Province earlier this week, with more than 1,000 people feared dead and thousands more left homeless. The death toll is continuing to rise as the full scale of the disaster unfolds.
Samaritan's Purse is sending two representatives from the UK to join a seven-man global Samaritan’s Purse Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART), to support local partners in Padang, Indonesia.
Samaritan’s Purse are purchasing emergency relief supplies including food and clothing and the DART team are aiming to link up with Christian groups already working in the area, seeking to distribute blankets, hygiene kits and shelter materials to those in need.
