Pledge A Pound, Pass It On, Prevent HIV and AIDS

Samaritan’s Purse is fighting an epidemic with a counter epidemic, calling its supporters to use Facebook to help prevent HIV and AIDS in the places where we work.
The ‘Pledge A Pound Pass It On’ initiative has already seen over 2,500 people from across the UK pledge £1 or more by text, online and at various events to prevent the spread of HIV and help care for children and families affected in Africa and Eastern Europe.
The challenge is this: To raise enough funds to put a class of 60 in Uganda through school for a year.
To do this, all we need is for 540 people to pledge £1. Will you be one of them?
Here’s how you can be a part of our counter epidemic today:
Pledge £1 or more – by texting ‘epidemic’ to 60999 or donate online
Join the Facebook page – visit www.facebook.com/counterepidemic and join with hundreds of others already there
Pass It On – invite your friends on Facebook or send them an email with the link to this article
Go offline – order a FREE pack of Pledge A Pound cards and pass them on to your friends and family
You might think £1 won’t go very far, but it’s amazing what just £1 can do for a family impacted by HIV and AIDS:
- £1 will pay for a child in Mozambique to have five books and three pens for school
- £1 will pay for a family of five in Kenya to put a meal on the table
- £1 will pay for a family in Uganda to get hold of a chicken
But that’s not all. Through our counter epidemic, your £1 joins with other peoples £1s to make £10s, £100s, £1,000s. That means even more families impacted by HIV and AIDS receiving the essentials they need and even fewer having to suffer the effects of this disease in the future.
Be part of Pledge A Pound Pass It On today and make a difference where you thought you couldn’t...
