Operation Christmas Child...only days left!

There are only days left to prepare your shoeboxes, take them to your nearest drop off point and make an online donation to help your shoebox get to where it needs to go.

With drop off points closing on November 18th, your last chance to order any extra leaflets, pick out your final gifts and encourage others around you to wrap and pack their shoeboxes is approaching fast.

Need a reminder of what needs to be done? Here’s a little checklist…

1. Does your group need more leaflets? Order now and we can get them to you before the window closes!

2. Check out our gift ideas – everything you need to know to fill your shoebox

3. Find your nearest shoebox drop off point – this year we have even more destinations

4. Make your shoebox donation online – saves you time and saves us money

5. Join the Operation Christmas Child facebook page and upload your photos and stories of family and friends wrapping and packing their shoeboxes.

6. Reminder: You need to drop your shoebox off before the 18th November!

Every year we love to hear what’s going on around the country as people of all ages get involved in sending shoeboxes to children in need. Here are a couple of stories to bring a smile to your face!

Jenny Frost, a teacher in Gloucester, designed herself a beautiful shoebox hat which she succeeded in wearing for an entire week, raising funds for her trip to deliver shoeboxes to children in Crimea this coming January. From school assemblies, shopping at Tesco’s and a doctor’s appointment, Jenny collected money, smiles and funny looks for her outlandish new hat! 

In Newry, Northern Ireland, the local shopping centre is in for a treat this month as a giant shoebox, complete with giant gifts is on display. The oversized items are generating plenty of excitement as early Christmas shoppers are finding themselves getting involved with wrapping and packing their own shoeboxes.
