Laughter and shouts fill the air. “Are these really all for me?” one excited girl squeals. “Look at my amazing racing car, it’s my favourite colour, red!” another boy shouts, running to show his friend his new gift. Each shoebox really is a miracle bursting with surprises and we want to say thank you for all that you have done to make this miracle possible.

So from children across the world this Christmas, a huge thank you to all of you who wrapped, packed and sent shoeboxes to children in need. Because of you, thousands of children are experiencing the joy of receiving a shoebox full of surprises this Christmas.

Whether you packed one shoebox, drove a van to collect hundreds or organised a warehouse full with thousands of shoeboxes we want to say a huge thank you for your involvement.

Across the UK, some warehouses have reported a decrease in shoeboxes, while others are celebrating an increase. Although we will not have final figures until the New Year, close to 1 million shoeboxes have already been sent overseas.

In Belarus, one warehouse is already packed to overflowing with thousands of shoeboxes. Let’s pray for the children who will be receiving their gifts over the next few weeks and the partners who will be distributing them. Each shoebox really is a miracle bursting with surprises!
