Kathy Dines ran the London Marathon for Samaritan's Purse Water Programmes. She says:
"I have been with my running club Ipswich Jaffa for 5 years and I am absolutely hooked! My aim has been to run the London Marathon for a long time but I didn't realise it would take me 5 years to get in on the ballot. After obtaining a place I decided to run for Turn on the tap.
"Water is something that we take for granted, bearing in mind wherever we are at home a tap is nearby, I don't have to walk miles for a drink of water for my family, I also take for granted that it is safe to drink. After her run she said “I just wanted to let you know that I had an amazing Marathon day. I managed 4: 38:37, it was tough at the end but well worth it!”

He says:
"I worked with Samaritan's Purse for 3 years and was able to see first hand the empowering work that helped
transform people's lives. Samaritan's Purse does such great work in the field - the people in the developing countries have such a passion to see lives transformed physically, emotionally and spiritually, and I am delighted to be able to run and raise money for a charity that makes such an incredible difference.
Andy ran the event in 5:28. After the run he said, “I am grateful to be able to run and raise money for Child & Family support. This programme transforms lives and communities. I am in awe of the people who work and volunteer in their communities to help other people, to thrive not just survive. just wanted to say a massive thank you for all the encouragement and support in the run up to the London run!
I am delighted to be able to say I finished and enjoyed the day - especially when I saw my family and SP Staff along the route. Also had a great time with the other runners from SP - and Bev's cheerleaders who travelled from Liberia where they are actively involved in the work of Samaritan's Purse - and these girls are really making a great difference in the lives of people. They know the who, what, where, when and why we ran the 26 miles.
Giving children a chance - letting them know they are loved by people and Jesus is what keeps me running.
