Welcome to Team Samaritan's Purse

Marathon
On a sunny April Sunday in London, six runners from three different countries emerged from the throng of runners taking part in the London Marathon - exhausted, but exhilarated.

Jon Chambers, Steve Griffin, Simon Harris, Bev Kauffeldt, Connie Rozes and Matt Smith each produced excellent runs, starting in Greenwich and running along the Embankment of the River Thames before finishing in front of Buckingham Palace.

"All of us who had injuries stated that we knew we couldn't quit," explains Bev Kauffeldt, who came from Samaritan's Purse Liberia to run and raise funds for our work there. "There were people who we were running for, all we had to do was think about them and keep running! Whether it was a little girl who has to walk 2-3 hours to get water, or a child living with AIDS, they all pushed us to the finish."

These marathon runners were among the first supporters to be part of our new Team Samaritan’s Purse initiative in the UK.

Being part of Team Samaritan’s Purse is easy. In fact, by simply doing whatever you want to do to raise funds for our work around the world, you are already part of Team Samaritan’s Purse! You might want to go on a sponsored swim, organise a skittles evening with friends, host an auction night with your church or (for the brave ones) take part in a marathon.
