Samaritan's Purse joins World's Longest Toilet Queue
World Water Day, 22 March 2010, was a crucial moment in the fight against the global sanitation and water crisis that’s killing 4,000 children every single day.
It was the day when the World's Longest Toilet Queue, a mass participation event and Guiness World Record attempt, saw thousands of people gather to demand real change from the world's leaders when they meet at the end of April in Washington DC.
There were queues in 71 countries across the world, including one outside Westminster, attended by Alex Day from Samaritan's Purse UK:
"There were about 150 people at the event all demanding for Gordon Brown to take the issue of safe toilets and clean water seriously. This is something we care passionately about at Samartians Purse and something we are working towards achieving with our partners. But with backing from our worlds leaders, we could achieve so much more…”
The event was organised by End Water Poverty, a coalition which Samaritan's Purse is part of. To find out more, visit www.endwaterpoverty.org.
