Scott Quinnell backs Operation Christmas Child

Scott Quinnell, the former Wales and Llanelli rugby star, is putting his weight behind this year’s Operation Christmas Child campaign which sends shoeboxes filled with gifts and educational items to children living difficult lives in several overseas countries.
The backing from Quinnell is particularly appropriate because this year shoeboxes will have a sporting theme to reflect the fact that 2012 is Olympic year. As an organisation we’re encouraging the public to put some sports items in the shoeboxes going to the children this Christmas.
Scott Quinnell comments:
“Sports, and in particular rugby, are my passion. But I’m also passionate about giving underprivileged children the chance to experience some of the excitement of sport for themselves. That’s why I’m thrilled to be supporting Operation Christmas Child and their drive to get sporty gifts out to children in need ahead of the 2012 Olympics.
“I’m right behind a campaign to give children in poorer parts of the world sports gifts so they can share some of the excitement that I’ve experienced from playing sport. If you love sports and care about children, how can you not get behind this? So,come on, let’s send as many sporty shoeboxes out to children overseas as possible!”
